2025 MAPGA Section Professional Championship  
This is a Player of the Year Points Event for the Open, Senior and Women's Categories
 

Date: September 15th-17th, 2025

Location: Bethesda CC (Bethesda, MD) & Lakewood CC (Rockville, MD)

Important Registration Info:  Registration is not through the national office.  

 

Eligibility:  MAPGA Members (except A-3 and Inactive), in good standing, as of the entry deadline and tournament date.

 

Compensation Survey:  ALL PLAYERS must complete the compensation survey in order to play in the event.  CLICK HERE to fill out the survey.

 

StrackaLine: All players will receive yardage books for both courses. 

 

Entry Fee: $300 per person. 

 

Start Times:  Split Tee - 8 AM - 10 AM and 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM on Monday and Tuesday.  We will play Bethesda CC on Monday and Lakewood CC on Tuesday and Wednesday.  

 

Practice Rounds:  Lakewood CC is aerating on August 11-13.  Practice Rounds are permitted during the week.  There will be a limited number of practice rounds on Sunday, September 14th for those traveling far distances.   Please reach out to Nick Keefer or Dave Crawmer to schedule a practice round.  

 

Bethesda CC - They are aerating greens August 11-15.  Practice rounds may be arranged by calling the Golf Professional Shop at 301.365.1703 and can be played Tuesday through Thursday, subject to availability. It is highly encouraged to register with other PGA Professionals playing in the Championship, and any singles wishing to play are subject to being paired with members for pace of play reasons. All players will be required to play their round in accordance with our Club’s pace of play policy. The Sunday before the event (September 14th), we will have limited tee times set aside in the afternoon for those who are traveling far distances, and these can be booked 1 week prior to the event date.

 

Please note: All Male Professionals are required to wear slacks, and practice rounds are for those playing in the Championship; no guests will be permitted. Each Professional in the field will be limited to one practice round.

 

 

Format: Up to 54 holes, at Stroke Play. There will be a cut after 36 holes to the low 40% and ties of the number of participants that teed-off on the first day. 

 

 

Qualifying Positions for the 2026 PGA PNC: There will be 10 qualifying spots and 5 alternate spots to advance to the 2026 National Professional Championship. Larkin Gross, David Hutsell and Rupe Taylor are exempt into the National PC.  

Tees: There will be two sets of tees (one set of tees for men and one set for women set at approximately 85% of the men’s distance).


Optional Contests: Optional $100 Players Pool (based on the three day total scores). All participants will be automatically entered into a skins game for the first two days.  If there are no skins, the money from the skins game will be donated to a local charity.
